As an FA Charter Standard club, Basingstoke Town Colts offers a safe environment for children to learn how to play football. We have a Safeguarding Children Policy which can be found here.
The Club’s Welfare Officer (CWO) is the person responsible for ensuring the welfare of all at the club (not just the children).
We ensure that anyone who will be working with the children has been criminal record checked and currently deemed safe to be with our children. We ensure that we have support and training in place for coaches so that they can continue to maintain a fun and safe environment for the children.
We have a code of conduct for all that is based on current FA respect and best practice guidelines. Above all, everyone needs to know that if they have any concerns for the welfare of a child that they can contact the club’s CWO confidentially and that they are trained and supported by the FA to help keep the children safe.
Stuart Wright (our CWO) can be contacted either by phone on 07453 292 612 or alternatively via email on firstname.lastname@example.org.
We work closely with the Hampshire FA in all aspects relating to child safety and well-being. Please visit their website here to see the great work that they do.
If you have safeguarding concerns and you wish to report these directly to the FA Safeguarding Team, further information and contact details can be found here.
We are continuing to spread awareness across out teams on what should happen if bullying should occur, further details can be found in our Anti-Bullying Policy here. This policy has been fully adopted by our club and is shared with new members as they join.
FA Respect Programme
It is the collective responsibility of everyone involved in football to
create a fair, safe and enjoyable environment in which the game can take place.
Basingstoke Town Colts is 100% committed to the “We only do positive” FA Respect Campaign. The Clubs Code of Conduct and Disciplinary Procedure, which is inline with the FA Respect Campaign, can be found here.
